MATTEO FINAL 1 ITALIAN MX JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP

Ponte Egola (PI) 23-24 June 2018, the first final of the Italian MX Junior Championship in Tuscany, on the beautiful Santa Barbara track.
Matteo on his KTM 85 defends the colors of the Moto Club Montalbano Jonico (MT), supported by Team Celestini Racing. Matteo is back from the good 4' place in the final standings in the Selective Area Center-South and in qualifying on Saturday shows a good rhythm, marking the fifth time trial.
Unfortunately, in the heats of qualification two falls send him back to 14th place. On Sunday a beautiful sunny day opens with the Warm-up and Matteo gets a good 4' time trial.
In Race 1 Matteo physically struggled not goes beyond the 8th place, considering the lap times of the first they are all very close. In Race 2, a start in the center of the group forces Matteo to a comeback race that closes again in the eighth place. At the end of the day then the confirmation of an 8' absolute place, as well as in the championship standings. After the first final the Italian Championship takes a long summer break, to return with the second test scheduled for September 2 in the Marche Region to Esanatoglia (MC). Naturally our Matteo will not give up with the training fto be more fit on the restart.
